Skill & Passion by Senior Dana Walters
I’ve been rowing for three years and no matter how many times I cross the drawbridge to Glen Island, I will never get tired of seeing the boathouse and the view of the marina. Doing team island runs on rainy days, de-rigging boats at 9 o’clock at night, staying overnight for a regatta, or having dock talks before rowing up to the starting line at a race are all just parts of the crew experience. In the short time that I’ve been at PCRA, I’ve also had to opportunity to be coached by some amazing people. The coaches push us to row better every day and they don’t allow slacking. As a rower, I have pushed myself beyond what I thought I was capable of and the rewards have been tremendous. I’ve gained a skill, a passion, and a family, and I have made friendships that I hope will last long after I leave PCRA.
