Ergathon 2019!

The PCRA Ergathon is our largest fundraising event of the year.  Funds raised will be used to improve all aspects of PCRA- impacting every member of the club, master and junior rowers.  All members of PCRA are required to participate.  This year the Ergathon will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2019.

Our goal is to raise $70,000.  If we average $500 per member we will exceed this amount!

See what you are helping to fund below:

• Equipment

  • This year we have already ordered a new 4+ for the boys program and 4x for the girls program ($20k+ each); planning for future shells and turnover is key (eights are $35k+)

  • The girls updated their sweep oars this past fall and boys are hoping to buy some new oars after the campaign ($3000+)

  • Additional equipment needs to ensure a high quality experience for all of our programs include: cox boxes, speed coaches, megaphones, and more ($500+ per item)

  • A well maintained fleet of coaching launches ($10k+)

• We are by far the best priced program in the area while continuing to provide a high level experience and top coaching.

• More domestic and potential international training and racing opportunities for our members.

• Maintenance and expansion of training locations

  • Boathouse maintenance: our boathouse is one of a kind with great character; we need to maintain that!

  • Dock: the dock we currently use will need to be replaced in the coming years. We are looking into options for replacement as we plan ahead ($60k+).

  • Land training facility: we are exploring the possibility of a permanent land training facility to help provide a better training environment for the athletes. This will also create more visibility for the club as we look to attract members from all parts of our community.

Fundraising goals, gifts, and naming opportunities:

• Individuals who raise $500+ are awarded a 2019 PCRA Ergathon t-shirt.

• Individuals who raise $1000+ are awarded a name of their choice on the inside gunwale of a boat (where the rowers sit) and a t-shirt.

• Individuals who raise $5000+ are awarded a name of their choice on a racing oar that will be used by PCRA and a t-shirt.

• Gifts of $10,000 will receive an oar to take home and a name of their choice thanking them on our website.

• Gifts of $15,000+ will earn the right to name one of the new rowing shells and a name of their choice thanking them on the website.

Note: all names will be approved by the Director of Rowing.
