PCRA Competitive Fall training begins with tryouts August 22nd - August 27th at our boathouse on Glen Island.
TRAINING FACILITIES
Our boathouse is located on Glen Island in New Rochelle. In the case of inclement weather, Race Team practices may move to our indoor training facility located at 89 Wolfs Lane in Pelham.
TRYOUTS
Tryouts for our race team, boys and girls, will be held August 22nd - August 27th. All athletes wishing to participate on race team MUST attend all days of tryouts. If you are not able to make tryouts and would like to join us for the Fall, please email our administrative team at admin@pcrarowing.com before signing up for a program.
Girls Tryouts: Monday - Friday 4:15pm - 6:45pm & Saturday 8am - 10:30am
Boys Tryouts : Monday - Friday 4:00pm - 6:30pm & Saturday 7:30am - 10:00am

RACE TEAM
August 29th - November 11th, 2022
Race Team is our Varsity competitive team in the Fall season. This team is open to High Schoolers with previous rowing experience. Participation on our Summer Race Team does not guarantee placement on Varsity in the fall. All athletes wishing to participate on race team MUST attend tryouts. Attendance at all practices is required; absences will impact race participation.

BOYS NOVICE TEAM
To accommodate the large number of male athletes we have on our team, we are adding a novice team to our program offerings. This team is for athletes who have not previously competed in regattas but require more skill and fitness development before they can participate on the race team. Capped at 16 athletes, participation on the novice team requires recommendation from a coach (i.e. Coach Brittany or Coach Paul) OR assignment from tryouts. If you’re unsure if your athlete qualifies for Novice please email us at admin@pcrarowing.com.

DEVELOPENT TEAM
September 12th - November 10th
PCRA’s Development team is a great starting point for any athlete interested learning how to row. Our development team is co-ed and is the first step towards joining either our boys or girls competitive novice racing program. On Development team, athletes learn the basics of rowing and fine tune their technical skills while gaining fitness. Sessions are open to athletes aged middle school (11) and up.
Our development team is split into two groups: level I and level II. Level I is for athletes newer to the sport who are still working on the basic skills. Level II is for athletes recommended by the coach who have previous rowing experience. Level II athletes will work towards making the Novice team.
Two sessions are available:
Level I: Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30pm - 6:00pm
SOLD OUT - Waitlist is currently open for any spots that may open up.
Level II: Mondays and Wednesdays 4:30pm - 6:00pm
COACH APPROVAL REQUIRED. Please note that participation in level II is limited to those recommended by coaches. If you are unsure if your child qualifies for level 2 please email us at admin@pcrarowing.com
Development Team Fee $875
ALL ATHLETES MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM
